Less complainy, more fangirly this time

So, I had a sonogram on Thursday. It hurt about three times as much as I'd expected (as I hadn't really expected it to hurt at all). There were times I was in tears from how hard that little wand was pushing into parts of my abdomen that already hurt. And, at the end, I asked if she'd seen the mass (because it wasn't hurting as much at that moment and I wanted to be sure she was looking in the right place--which I don't think she was because she kept pausing and taking screen caps to the left of it). She said no, but that it was for the doctor to read it and analyze the results. She stepped out to talk to the doctor and I kind of lost it. I'm tired of stupid pains I can't identify and then to go through more pain and be told once again that I'm fine... yeah, so I broke down crying for a few minutes. She came back in afterward and told me I could get dressed, then she saw me out.
I drove back to the office and when I got there my former boss asked why I had a rash on my face. I looked in the mirror and, yep, all up and down both sides of my face were little red bumps. And half of my left eye is bright red, like blood vessels in it burst or something. I called my allergist who said to take an extra dose of medicine, which I did while at work. It made me sleepy and loopy and then my mommy came to follow my car home to make sure I didn't crash it because I was a wee bit out of it, but not too bad off, honestly. Later on that night, before having a shower, I checked and, yeah, a little bit of a rash on my arms where they had touched the sheets or pillow but not where the robe or gel were. I think the pillow must have been treated or laundered with something I reacted to, because I had to lie on both my sides and it's the sides of my face that had the reaction. It's been three days now and the redness/bumps aren't completely gone yet. And my eye is still half bright red. I am a MESS.
I called the hospital and left a message as well as sent an email to the radiology person whose contact info they gave me on my way out, but I haven't heard from them yet. I don't think it's some awful something I've contracted... it's most likely just something that was on the pillow I was allergic to. But I'd love to find out what that was so I don't roll my face around in it in the future, you know? I'm the only person who can come out of sonogram physically worse for it. LOL
Also, I've been a bit absorbed with Dexter. Season 4 was where I had left off and I started watching it again while waiting for Veronica Mars discs and then, when the discs arrived, I couldn't stop watching. I've managed to go through more than three seasons in two weeks or so. Season 5 was fantastic. Season 6, not so much. Season 7 was DREADFUL. And Season 8... well, something just happened in it that made me SCREAM. I'm only a third of the way through Season 8 though. So no spoilers! I hadn't believed my coworker when he said it went downhill... but I'm so sad to see what the writers did to these great characters. Ugh. They had so many chances and just kept making mistakes and messing up when the writers tried to fix their mistakes.
I stopped watching Dexter so that I could watch the last Sherlock episode on TV tonight. I liked this season. I think I'll need to watch it a few more times, but there were certainly a number of times I laughed or cooed. There were some moments I didn't like as much, but usually those things become less important when I re-watch Sherlock episodes. I must admit I did shriek at the end of the episode tonight and then I clapped, as if they could hear me. Yes, I am silly.
My former boss at work has started watching Sherlock as well and asked me if John and Sherlock are gay. I didn't know how to answer that. That's, like, the worst question to ask a Johnlock shipper in a professional, literary workplace, especially as she's not really up-to-date on lingo and wouldn't understand my complex answer anyway ;-) I think I said something extremely brilliant like "Um... well......."
On an unrelated note, I cannot beat Level 30 of this game and it's driving me mental: http://zone.msn.com/en/dropznheartz/
Also, I wrote three porn battle ficlets today. One of them has some sneezing in it, so I guess I should post it here. So I will. Yup.

Date: 2014-02-03 03:45 pm (UTC)Hopefully you'll get some answers when the doctor looks at the sonogram. I know I spent like a year and a half going through that sort of diagnostic limbo garbage, so I feel for you.

Date: 2014-02-03 04:15 pm (UTC)I am not feeling much hope for the sonogram, because of where the wand was concentrated and because the pain is worse after eating and I had to fast in order to get the sonogram done, which I feel like just defeats the whole purpose LOL!
