Thank you everyone for your mp3 advice! I manage to find copy of the song I *really* wanted last night free, but I don't really mind paying $1 for a song either. I'll look into the options over the next few days and see what fits me best. I really appreciate the quick & informative help!!! *huggles*
I just caught my second book ever about half an hour ago! Okay, so it was slightly arranged in advance and the person releasing it private messaged me and told me when & where (and had asked me what I like a few days before!) but it's still thrilling to actually find a book in the wild and take it home for my very own. I look forward to reading it (It's Midnight by Dean Koontz- my boss & his son are OBSESSED with him, but I haven't read any of his stuff yet) and then releasing it into the wild again! Happy happy! *bounces*
Last night I started and today I finished another fanvid. I haven't had the time/space on my computer lately to vid, and luckily the software cooperated with me for the most part. There were a few major snags but nothing I couldn't work around. It's a hurt/comfort Queer As Folk Season 4 Brian video to U2's 'Sometimes You Can't Make it On Your Own' and I had a lot of fun. I think it turned out all right. There are a few tiny snags I don't like, but otherwise I think I like it. Heck, I just enjoyed an excuse to revist the nummy h/c moments ;-)
Anyhoo, it'll take me about 2 hours to get it online, so I'll do that tonight when I won't be tying up the phone lines. If anyone wants to see it, let me know and I'll send you the link privately.

Date: 2005-06-11 11:42 pm (UTC)I'm looking into Netflix or something similar so I can watch whole seasons of shows without having to buy expensive box sets every time. Farscape put a huge dent in my pocketbook, and I'm looking into buying the anime series Fushigi Yuugi which is also unusually pricey. Plus, my printer is broken and I have my heart set on getting a new computer, probably a laptop, by the end of the year. QAF will just have to wait a bit longer...*sigh*

Date: 2005-06-12 12:00 am (UTC)One of the couples my boyfriend and I hung out with at college all the time enrolled in Netflix and were going through Stargate SG1 using it. They had to wait a little while between disks, but made pretty good progress, all things considered.
But, yes, there are MAJOR season 4 spoilers (like nearly all of the important Brian moments in the S4 finale) but I'd love for you to see it when you do get to it.
I'm seriously thinking about a laptop as well. My boss just got one at work to replace their old 1997 computer and I usually HATE laptops with their stupid mice and tiny keyboards but I kind of like this one. But I definitely don't have the money for it at the moment. May was the first month ever where there were more laptop sales in the US than desktops... not that I'm very surprised about that. But buying new computer equipment is a big thing even with recent sales and all. I wish you luck there!!

Date: 2005-06-15 10:20 pm (UTC)You really should! It is so much fun! The thrill of the catch. And the nervous excitement when you casually drop a book and leave so someone else can take it and enjoy it. Wheeee! I've not released many (probably 7 or so) and only one was ever officially caught and reported (a Harry Potter book 1, which was taken back to FRANCE by the person who found it! SO COOL!) And I've caught two now, which I intend to read and release back into the wild again. So I'm not all that experienced, but I absolutely LOVE bookcrossing and mention it to practically everyone I know.
And, hey, if you do get into it and want to do an arranged bookcross with me (i.e. through the mail) I'm more than up for that :-)
