It has been an excruciatingly long and busy week. I was dogsitting/housesitting all week. And even though I love the three little guys so much, they are exhausting, especially when they keep waking me up at 3am and 6am. Luckily, I remembered I had earplugs, so it was just a matter of trying to sleep through the guilt of not hearing them, knowing they were upstairs barking. I smelled so strongly of dog. I was covered in dog. I felt so yucky. I went to my house at 7am on Saturday morning and took a long ass shower and changed into clean clothes that didn't smell like dog and it was GLORIOUS! It only lasted until 11am though when I went back to the house after my library volunteer shift and run to the bank and then I was immediately covered in dog again. Yesterday I went into work to do conference stuff. Today I went into work again to get stuff done. I am actually feeling quite good about my level of preparedness right now, even though I've not yet packed. I got home from work a little before 8pm today and had dinner and started my MANY loads of laundry to get the dogness off all the things I owned. I've got a couple of "I need to pack this" piles. But right now I just want to bask in the glory of BEING HOME.
I love my home. I missed my home. I love that it isn't covered in oily dog fur, for one. For two, I love my blankets and pillows and Samoose stuffed animal on my couch and my house temperature EXACTLY where I want it to be and my food here at home and all my things! I missed my things.
Oh, but I have a new thing. To reward myself for working two extra days this week and surviving dogsitting, I bought myself the new Hawkeye Pop figure. Now I have no excuse and MUST own Coulson so they can bob their little heads at each other adorably. Yeah. I really, really needed that. Thank you, local comic book store (I only went in to buy a comic as part of the Star Wars swap I'm running right now and I left with the comic--which they had in stock YES!!-and Hawkeye and some Game of Thrones buttons for the other swap I'm running right now. Great success. I have no regrets about breaking my rule, especially as I got a bonus for the dogsitting because I was a last minute fill-in, so that bonus more than covers the entire purchase). Anyway, yeah, Pop!Hawkeye is adorable.
I'm watching Bloodline on Netflix. Is anyone else? I'm not really loving it, but I like it. I'm on episode 10 of 13, I think. So I'm nearly done. I might save the rest to watch on my trip if I need something to take my mind off work.
Also in the taking mind of work department? MEME! I made the silly graphic for it yesterday. And I've got a document of prompts going already. I hope you'll all join me in a week or so for some meme goodness when I'm back home!
HOME. I love my home. So nice to be back, albeit briefly.
