So I leave tomorrow morning for work. Yippie. It actually should be a fairly good conference and my job onsite won't be as hard because we sold out of registrations.

Yesterday I spent the day at home and crafted madly all day because there's a ton of swaps due while I'm gone and I had to get them done ahead of time. I watched the entire season of Downton Abbey and freed up space on my DVR for when I'm gone.

Around 9 last night, however, my eye started to itch a little. By midnight, the eyelid had swelled up to twice acceptable size and I look like a droopy-eyed freak. I attributed it to the fact that my sister's cat has been sleeping on my pillow this week (which she never did before and that cat always drools and makes me itch. So I changed my sheets, took a shower, and headed to bed. This morning, it's just as bad, if not worse. So I went to the emergency clinic. It was filled with sick people. At conference time, I live in constant fear of germs (last Chicago I spent the entire conference SO sick, I couldn't even work on one of the days or make it out of my bathroom. It was horrid). So I've been taking vitamins and washing my hands every hour. And then I go and walk into a small waiting room and have to sit there surrounded by sick people for an hour. Where's a bubble when you need one? Once I was seen, the doc took a look and rushed me out in about 3 minutes with antibiotics because it looks infected. I don't know if it is or not, but I'm happy if anything will help.

I went to see the new Studio Ghibli movie today, because I had a movie pass expiring March 1. Talk about last minute! Anyway, it was lovely and fun. It didn't really rock my world, because I'd read the Borrowers as a kid and knew the basics already. But it was beautiful and super sweet and a nice movie indeed. Also no crazy "what the hell is that thing supposed to mean????" moments which both confuse me and grow on me in Ghibli films. I kind of missed that aspect. It seemed so... normal! LOL I really liked it, though.

Now I need to pack and then go to some dinner with my family for my Dad's birthday which was last Monday and he only just announced he wanted to do this last night. ARGH! I can't stand when people spring things on me last minute, especially when I need to be packing up to leave first thing in the morning. I'm really too busy to ever be spontaneous, but that's the way I like to live.

Also, they showed the commercial and then the trailer for that new Disney Nature Chimpanzee movie coming in April. I cried BOTH times.

Okay. Going to go start packing so I'll stop freaking out. Stupid eye! Why won't you open all the way? I look like SUCH a doofus. I am NOT happy about this at all. Why NOW? Why right before the big conference, the only time of year where I'll have to interact with our members face-to-face? Stupid stupid.
