Guess what? I was the lucky winner in a Twitter contest today! I won the new NCIS board game! Squeeeeeeeeee!
I went to a Wizard Rock concert on Sunday night (just a few miles from my house). It was tiny but reaffirmed the fact that WRock fans really are the sweetest bunch of fans. And WRock is my favorite music genre. I did the Neville dance during Whompy's Nev song (and OMG one of the girls in the audience admitted she was practicing the dance before coming; I've watched YouTube videos to practice it as well! Suddenly I was MUCH less pathetic!). I got to hear two new JFF songs including his song for Jingle Spells 4. And I got to hear all sorts of fandom songs--Lauren's Kaylee song, Paper Towns song, Hunger Games song, and the OC song about Seth & Summer! Oh how cool to hear that one in person... even though I suspect I was the only person in the audience who had actually watched the show (OMGGuiltyPleasure). It's also just a hoot to stand around with a bunch of people in the basement of a church, singing In Which Draco and Harry Secretly Want to Make Out. heehee And, of course, I teared up during the Weapon, which we sung for Esther Earl. There is absolutely nothing that is as magical as being with a bunch of people when we're all singing the Weapon. I feel SO happy to be a part of the community.
Yesterday was the DADA fanfic meetup. I hadn't read through all the fics, but I only had 2 days to read them and there were 13 stories, some of which had up to 17 chapters. ACK! But I did read up through the first few chapters of the ones I didn't finish. Lots of Snape/Hermione. But there was a pretty great Draco/Charlie Marriage Law fic in there.
This Saturday is the annual DADA Halloween party (that's right; 3 Harry Potter events in one week. I'm the luckiest fangirl ever). I am *this* close to chickening out of my planned Bellatrix costume. And I need to carve a pumpkin and put together gifts for the contest.
There's lots of crappy drama in my life and both of my stupid feet hurt. But at least I've got happy fandom stuff as well. Yay!
Have I mentioned I'm re-reading Mockingjay now? I'm earreading it this time. Not sure if I'm liking it any better this time around. I just... don't know about that book.
