Been immersed in The L Word this week. Finished up season 1 today. Am not looking forward to the wait... I want season 2 now! :-)

I haven't checked e-mail in a LONG time. I'm really behind with everything, including LJ. Sorry *hugs* I've just been out of it lately. Went to the evil dentist on Tuesday- it was one of the worst experiences I've had in a LONG time. Sooo much blood. And several days later and it still hurts. The dentist said it was one of the hardest things he'd done in his 27 years as a dentist. It took 2.5 hours and the Novocain(sp?) wore off near the end but I told him to just get it over with. Ow! Yeah. You bet I'm excited to go back in a week and a half for more torture!

Though I have been writing a lot for the annual challenge. I've got a variety of fics this time though most are highly unusual for me... which is interesting! Not only do I have a gen-fic but I also have het! I know, I know! Me writing gen and het! And if that isn't bad enough, I wrote a short original character story! After doing the banner for the 'bunnies' page the characters popped into my head and wouldn't let me go. So, yeah... I wrote Obi fluff and Remus/Bill and [hopefully] hot Legolas/Aragorn action and mischievous!Sirius... but also gen, het and origfic! Definitely felt challenged, I guess :-)

But as of yesterday, poof, all my muses are gone. They've been working on overdrive for months now (yeah, you all noticed I'm sure) but as of yesterday *pffft!* Nothing. At all. I stare at all my story ideas and unfinished fics and have absolutely no urges to write. This happens to me sometimes... I go through phases. But I've been so lucky over the last year and it's painful to have a sudden lack of inspiration. Silly muses! I know they're just trying to balance me out... I mean, usually I want to write more than I want to eat or sleep- I roll out of bed and immediately start writing... or I fall asleep at the computer writing... or I rush right to the computer to get down a line or two during a commercial. But now... nothing at all. I'm sure when they come back things will be just fine. But there's no telling how long this will last. Just wanted to give you all the head's up. And if you see my muses out there somewhere, tell them I'm glad they waited to run out on me until I finished my challenge fics. And tell them I would appreciate it if they would return soon. It's been over a day now and I really miss them!

As you may or may not know, I cannot draw. My hand just doesn't move the right way and my mind surely doesn't think the write way. But I'm pretty okay at copying... so I took a couple different pics from various drawing tutorials and combined them with a foggy mental image and a not too bad picture fell out. It's slightly less laughable at my previous attempts but it's nowhere near any level of decent.

But I thought I'd share. And I owe GWT many thanks for her encouragement in this matter... and for not dying with laughter as expected during my previous attempt. LOL Just wait until you see the patheticness that is my annual challenge entry... no, actually, don't wait. It's definitely not worth waiting for. Tis far worse than this, so that's saying something! LOL

But on a happy note... I got my scanner out of my storage unit today and hooked it up and it actually works (with some tinkering software-wise) on my new(er) computer. So, yay! Three cheers for my scanner!
