Guhhhhh... I watched Love Actually today. Bought it at Best Buy. Couldn't find The Road to El Dorado. Bloody HELL I couldn't find it! Must have been 3 rows of family movies in Best Buy and it wasn't anywhere. Went to 3 different stores after that. Felt like an idiot heading straight for the children's/family section and still didn't find it. Apparently my skills/luck during a quest suckith much. And I refrained from buying the DVD of White Squall for $6. I'm not sure I should have. I fucking love that movie. But I have it on VHS already and the DVD had no added features... so I don't know. I'm so conflicted. I almost bought the first disk and Gravitation box for $22.30. That's a good price, isn't it? Well, compared to the first 3 stores I went to it was. LOL. I refrained from buying the Wolf's Rain box set, too. Even though I'm dying for a cute little Kiba plushie. *dies*

Anyway, I bought Love Actually. DAMN good movie. Even watched out of season. I laughed at least 6 times in the first 10 minutes and by minute 11 I was crying. Pretty much the same throughout. LOTS of laughing and crying and dancing along with Hugh in my bedroom. Ghods I feel manic-depressive when I watch these sorts of things! LOL! But what a fantastic movie! Definitely my second favorite Christmas movie now. I can't wait until Christmas so I can watch it again in the proper spirit of things. Though, come to think of it, I had such an emotional time watching it out of season, it'd probably KILL me to watch it during Christmas.

But Liam. GODS Liam was amazing! It was worth $16 just to see Liam in a sexy scarf, I'm telling you!!! But Hugh... and Alan... and Colin- oohhhh a wet writer Colin! *dies of pure bliss* The women were great in it, too, of course. Emma was fantastic. And the little kid who played Liam's son- ohmygodswashecute!!! Usually I have a tough time with kids in movies, and I wasn't what to make of him at the very first bit. Buthe and Liam were SO adorable together! Squeeee! But Liam was the best. Okay, so I currently have a thing for men with kids. It's my hormones. But, still, DAMN but he was wonderful! I just wanted to hug him the whole time. Even when I was in hysterics.

Good movie. Did I mention wet Colin? And Liam with a scarf? I loved. LOL How superficial am I? But, honestly, you know I dig character movies. And this was all character. And TONS of them. EXACTLY what I like in a movie. And so touching. And and and I just loved it. I mean, I could tell it was trying to be a warm feel-good movie but damnit, it actually worked. *sigh* I'm very glad I promised it many months ago that I would buy it. And I'm glad I kept my promise.

I'm a liiiittle confused about all their connections to each other. I feel damn stupid, actually. I'm sure I just missed a reference or two (I was writing while watching parts of it). So I'll definitely have to watch it again. Or maybe they weren't all connected to each other? Which would seem silly because so many of them were.

I can't wait until Christmas... maybe I can convince family to watch it with me tomorrow... *scemes*

All righty! Today's fic exploits:

  • Wrote a few pages in my Weiss Kreuz Gluhen Ken-fic. It's getting near the end. Another page or so and it should be over. I thought up an ending a few days ago. Hopefully I can pull it off all right. I'm a little worried about it theme-wise. It hasn't really got a plot at all... and the one thing tying it together sort of dies away at the end. There's some big SOMETHING it seems to be working up to in the end and then it just stops and gives up. I don't like that. Maybe a miricle will happen during the editing process. *crosses fingers*
  • Wrote a little more of that other Remus/Sirius story I worked on yesterday. The one where Sirius complains a lot. I'm afraid it's going to get cheesey. But it's just SO much fun letting Remus play with Sirius. *giggles*
  • Wrote a couple pages in an Aragorn fic I started half a week ago. It's a humor piece... as if that's a surprise given that it's centered around Legolas and Gimli and another bet *G* It's coming along nicely. And if I didn't keep jumping fics, this is the sort of thing I could knock out in an hour or two easily. Which Aragorn would probably like since he's not doing so hot in the fic at present... poor sexy sneezy king *snuggles*
  • I'm thinking of posting an unfinished fic in my journal. One I was planning on using for the spring sneezefic challenge that we decided not to do. I have a Faramir story I was saving for it, too. But this one is Aragorn/Legolas... and it's cute... maybe I'll look it up tonight and figure it out. It's a cute scene and I'd like to share it... I'm just not sure I want to make a whole fic out of it... *shrug* I dunno. We'll see.
  • Oh, and I wrote a few lines more in my other open Weiss fic, the Aya/Yohji one.

Random thought of the late night: I think I'm going back to Billy. I miss Tae Bo. Billy's so enthusiastic and supportive. I miss working out to him. The eliptical and the new weight machiney thingy are great- and I can watch Angel at the same time, which rocks. (Oh my GOSH I didn't see that twist coming tonight! The Cordy one, I mean... I knew Angelus was just pretending there, but CORDY! DAMN I didn't see that coming! LOL) But I miss Billy. I used to work out with him every morning before going to sleep. But now that there's a dog sleeping in the basement, he needs the light off so I can't go down there to work out after 10pm. Grrr. Maybe I'll wake up tomorrow and work out and see how that feels. Might be sort of nice to start the day out with a workout and shower. But then I'll just get hot and sweaty again once I start the day and be icky all day and go to bed icky... so maybe two showers a day... ugh... I dunno. So much work. LOL I'm rambling. I should be sleeping. Or writing. Or showering... yup yup... did I mention Love Actually ROCKS?!!! *G*

Ugh. I'm trying to resist. While shopping in Walmart today (why are there so many horrible animated movies out but no copies of the Road to El Dorado, I ask you?!) I saw The Stand on DVD for $13.00. I came close to buying it. It's got two tracks of commentary! And my taped-from-television copy is really annoying at times with all its repeating commercials and promos and things. And there are times I really wish I could watch it on the computer rather than listen to it from the other room or behind me on tv.

So I was going to buy 'Road' on amazon.com... but then I'd have to pay shipping and handling as it's under $25. And they have The Stand for only $12.28. And then I wouldn't have to pay s&h and would pay the same extra over the $25 as I would for s&h. Funny how it's suddenly a better deal to pay $30 for two DVDs? Gah. I dunno. I'm relatively broke. But it's tempting, just the same.

The 9/11 coverage is still very haunting. I don't need it quite as thick as they're giving it on tv... but it's been a very somber day in general around here. Of course I live about 10-15 minutes from the Pentagon (and Arlington) so there were flags put up everywhere today and there was a ceremony there today. It was nice. Very sad... but nice. It's starting to get painful to watch tv, though. If I had a quarter for every "It is a different nation today than it was three years and a day ago" *pulls out hair*
