Just went to one of the BEST Wrock Concerts. Best part? Crossroad Demons played "Tuesday" JUST FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Because I asked and was like "I love Supernatural now and please play me your awesome song I already bought from you and I will love you foreeeever" and Jared was like "well, it's not on my set list but I'll play it in the parking lot for you" and then after the set we demanded an encore song and he played "Tuesday" for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And for all the other SPN fans, but mostly me in my mind. LMAO. Jared got all the hugs from me for that. SQUEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Live Supernatural Music FTW!
Also awesome was Sherlock song "The Eyeballs in the Microwave" that made me cry (thank goodness I'd listened to it ahead of time and knew what to expect otherwise I would have had ALL the tears) and Merlin song "Song for a Lord" I also knew and loooooved (requested by a friend of mine- squee!). But the best from the WRock from Leth was a Wizard Rock cover of "Carry On My Wayward Son" and I had to cover my mouth so I didn't squeal and cry. SO GOOD. That song is all the things for me. It's very SPN, but it was a Highlander fandom song for me way before that. Oh, Kansas, how I adore you *happy* And, of course, House of Nom Nom always brings down the house 'cause it is BRILLIANT.
Witherwings was great and played some non-WRock as well which was SO beautiful. And she played all my favorites of hers like "Yummy Malfoy" and "In Ginny's Defense". I was also thrilled she sang "Be S.M.A.R.T" because I don't think I'd ever heard her sing that one in person before. My friends tell me I must have seen it because I go to ALL THE CONCERTS but chances are it was the WRock concert on the Monday after the BookCrossing Convention last year and that is just a huge foggy memory for me apart from fangirling the hell out of Kwikspell and being uber embarrassed for having lost my voice.
The Blibbering Humdingers were fucking amazing. I'm not even kidding. They played "Nobody Expects" and I actually got out of my chair just so I could jump properly at the right places. I freakin LOVE that song. They asked if anyone had a favorite song they didn't play and I didn't speak up because I have two and they hadn't played either ("Nobody Expects" and "I Lose Myself") but they always close with Nobody Expects and they only play one not so bouncy/silly song per set and I haven't heard them play that one since Infinitus two years ago. So I didn't speak up. But then they READ MY MIND! Their last two songs were "Nobody Expects" and "I Lose Myself". How perfect is that? I realize now they didn't play a single Hufflepuff song, but that's okay. It's hard for a Hufflepuff to request Slytherins to play their songs that either objectify or insult Hufflepuff. LOL Of course, that doesn't stop me from buying their Hufflepuff sandwich merch! LOL
Seriously, though. I adore Leth for playing a Supernatural song for me. That made my week, possibly my life to this point. OMG Okay, it was also awesome when Nagini played the Captain Jark Harkness/Ianto Jones song for me in concert because I'd requested it. But that one makes me cry and "Tuesday" just plain makes me squee because of badass!Sam and Dean's pig in a poke.
The funny part is, I was almost late for the concert because I had to finish up another damn 5 page SPN fanfic. LOL Seriously. I couldn't just leave it unfinished. The lines were there in my head and HAD TO GET OUT!
But totally worth leaving for. Wizard Rock concerts are always fun but Wizard Rock concerts that good are rare.
